School of Hospitality Leadership

 

The School of Hospitality Leadership, located within the prestigious College of Commerce, was established with the support of a $7.5 million gift from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. Beginning fall of 2009, the School began preparing students for leadership roles within hotels, restaurants, convention and tourism ventures, private clubs, spas, and related leisure industries.

As the world’s fastest growing and most dynamic industry, hospitality offers seemingly endless professional opportunities to those looking for excitement and adventure in an industry that never sleeps! While hospitality is a global industry that transcends borders and cultural boundaries, the School is focused upon two critical issues facing the industry nationally: a growing shortage of qualified, skilled workers and a significant lack of diversity among hospitality managers and leaders.

The School of Hospitality Leadership is located in the heart of Chicago’s Downtown Loop where students benefit from a world-class metropolitan environment with a host of opportunities to apply their leadership knowledge and gain real world experience that will further distinguish their skills.

The School of Hospitality Leadership warmly welcomes applications from freshmen, change-of-major, and transfer candidates. 

 

ServSafe Certification Courses Offered Now!

ServSafe Manager Certification course will be held on Saturday(s), March 3rd and 10th from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  Attendance is mandatory at both sessions, and necessary to take the certification test.  Students must receive a passing score on the certification course to recieve SHL Milestone credit.  Total cost for the ServSave Manager Certification course is $210.00 (this includes course, course materials, City of Chicago permit, and State of Illinois permit).  RSVP to Gianna Bellavia to sign up, registration is confirmed upon submission of course registration check.

ServSafe Alcohol Certification course will be held on Saturday, February 25th from 9:00 AM - 1:30 PM.  Attendance is mandatory at the entire session, and necessary to take the certification test.  Students must receive a passing score on the certification course to recieve SHL Milestone credit.  There is no cost for this certification.  RSVP to Gianna Bellavia to sign up, registration is confirmed upon submission of course registration check.
